All you need to know about the supplementary admission exercise for international students in local primary schools Singapore.
The Supplementary Admissions Exercise for International Students (S-AEIS) is for international students seeking admissions to Primary 2 to 4 in the same academic year. Students who were unsuccessful in AEIS can apply via S-AEIS again. S-AEIS applications typically start in January, and the outcome is released in April. Students are not allowed to apply during Primary 5 and Primary 6 years due to the rigour of PSLE exams.
Admission S-AEIS depends on applicants passing the required centralised placement test in Mathematics and available school vacancies.
Students seeking admission to a mainstream primary school must Take the relevant paper-based Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) test run by Cambridge Assessment English (CAE). You will need to submit your child’s CEQ test results during the S-AEIS application. The test must be taken within 12 months before the month of submission of the S-AEIS registration. For example, if you want to submit S-AEIS registration in Jan 2024, the applicant must have taken the CEQ test on or after August 2023. The applicant must meet or exceed the required Cambridge English Scale (CES) score (refer to the table below) in the CEQ test before they apply for the AEIS-Primary Mathematics test appropriate for their age.

For S-AEIS-Primary, the child needs to be familiar with the Maths topics taught in MOE’s mainstream schools for the level preceding the one they applied for. If your child has applied for admission to Primary 3, they should be familiar with Primary 2 math content.
The AEIS-Primary Mathematics Test is categorised into 2 different formats: primary 2/3 and Primary 4. They are explained below.
It comprises 2 parts. 25 minutes is given to complete Part 1 and 40 minutes to complete Part 2:
Part 1: Multiple-choice questions (29 items)
Part 2: Short-answer questions (17 items)
The use of calculators is not allowed. For short-answer questions, your child must clearly show the solution method by writing their working steps in the spaces provided.
It comprises 2 parts. 35 minutes is given to complete Part 1, and 50 minutes to complete Part 2:
Part 1: Multiple-choice questions (30 items).
Part 2: Short-answer questions (8 items) and open-ended questions (6 items).
The use of calculators is not allowed. Your child must clearly show the solution method for short-answer and open-ended questions by writing their working steps in the spaces provided. Generally, open-ended questions require longer and more complex methods of solutions as compared to short-answer questions.
For 2024, The S-AEIS math test is tentatively scheduled on Thursday, 22 February.
Do note that Applications may close early when all places for the admissions tests are filled.
The application for S-AEIS is very straightforward. Steps to apply for S-AEIS:
The release of the outcome is in April. MOE does not release test results, just the outcome. To view your child’s outcome, log in to S-AEIS Internet System (S-AEIS-IS) using Your child’s passport number or Foreign Identification Number and birthdate.
If your child is accepted, they must report to their school during the given reporting period. Detailed reporting instructions are provided in the outcome letter that you can access in the S-AEIS-IS. However, it is important to note that if you fail to report within the given timeframe, the enrollment will be allocated to another student.
If the student holds a valid Dependant’s Pass (DP) or Immigration Exemption Order (IEO), Their admission is confirmed immediately upon reporting to the offered school. They do not need to apply for a Student pass.
For students who do not hold a Dependant’s Pass (DP) or Immigration Exemption Order (IEO), school admission is subject to them obtaining a Student’s Pass (STP) from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). To apply for a student pass, they will be issued a Registration Acknowledgement Letter (RAL) from the school.
It is a requirement for Student pass applicants to have a local sponsor who also acts as their guardian in Singapore. The local sponsor must be a Singapore citizen (SC) or permanent resident (PR) aged 21 or older. Companies and organisations cannot act as sponsors.
If the student has a parent or a family member working/staying in Singapore and is a citizen or PR, they can act as their sponsor.

Take the CEQ Test by January (12 months before the submission month of the S-AEIS application)
After you get the CEQ result, start the application of the S-AEIS math test. You may apply from 9th January to 15th January.
If your application is approved and payment is successful, you'll get the entry proof by February.
Your child will take the test in Singapore on 22nd Febrauary.
Based on your child's performance in the test, they may be offered a place in a school. You'll get the release of outcome by April.
Successful applicants must report to the offered school within 12-15 days of knowing the outcome.
