FAQ
1.Vocal
We provide vocal lessons both as a career
or leisure. Teaching vocal lessons is not for the faint of heart or for the
teacher who enjoys quietness. If you are going to undertake teaching voice
lessons prepare yourself for a lot of noise and possibly some frustration.
While teaching vocal lessons to some students who have music backgrounds may
come quite easy as compared to those with no music backgrounds.
No matter what level you feel your vocal
ability is, it is important that to ensure that all students know music basics
such as the names of notes and the basics of rhythm. For students who are not
familiar with basics of music, they would be placed at the beginners’ level.
Also important for all students is a wide range of vocal exercises to be done
at home for practice and during their voice lessons.
Most important of all, when attending
vocal lessons, we should ensure that singing is fun for everyone. Apart from
continuous encouragement, students will require a certain amount of practice
time every week and this can vary, depending on how advanced they are. If
students are found slacking off, they will need a little push, and sometimes
they just might need a new approach. Students will always be encouraged to try
something new. Lessons are kept interesting and challenging and this will to
vocal excellence!
There are numerous objectives and
benefits for having professional voice training. The prime objective is to
train the voice while maintaining vocal health and proper musicianship. The
student will be able to accomplish vocal strength, agility, range, and breathe
management.
The first few lessons include a complete
intake and vocal assessment. You’ll learn the foundation of this vocal
technique and how it can strengthen your voice and body.

3.Music
We offer music lessons and unique
programs in piano lessons, guitar lessons, voice lessons and vocal training,
bass lessons, drum lessons, violin lessons, flute lessons, saxophone lessons,
trombone lessons and jazz classes. Students learn at their own pace in a
nurturing fun atmosphere. Lesson plans are designed to build the strength of
each student. Parents participate in their child’s learning by attending the
lessons (optional or as and when advised by teacher). This participation
enables them to accomplish their role as a practice monitor and mentor at home.
Students will respond much more effectively if the parents are involved in the
lesson. This allows parents to effectively help the students if they are having
problems as well as monitor progress during the week.
Stage 1
Lessons include an artistically conceived
flow of songs, nursery rhymes, instrumental jam sessions, fingerplays, and
movement activities. The combination and types of activities are research-based
and support children’s developing competence in tonality and rhythm. In
addition, activities evolve from the child’s world and include vocal play,
animal sounds, rhythm play, language play, and a good bit of genuine, silly
fun. Classes are taught by a qualified Music Together teacher who is trained in
music development and skilled in leading participatory music activity. Children
“bring the music home” to their parents through the workbook and instruments.
Stage 2
The most traditional and effective way to
study a musical instrument is through tailored lessons. These lessons give
students the opportunity to enjoy one-on-one instruction with the flexibility
of individualized scheduling. Students will have the opportunity to perform
with other students on recitals. The violin, guitar, piano, voice, fife, and
the drums and the are excellent instruments to begin as young as age four.
Scientific research has shown that musical training for children increases scholastic
achievement and improves overall behavior and attitude. Private instrumental
study also introduces children to developing disciplined routine practice
habits and time management. These habits will benefit them in their academic
studies at school.
Performance
Lessons
The program begins with private lessons
that meet once a month. Students will have opportunities to play for and with
other students and in recitals as they progress in their learning. Your child
will also have the opportunity to participate once a week with other
instrumentalists in our Musician Performance Series program. This program will
give students opportunities to learn musicianship skills in a small group
environment with other students. This will give them a monthly outlet for
learning and will be a powerful tool to help motivate students to practice.

4.Ballet
We offer basic and advanced instruction,
from little ones to those students planning a professional dance career. This
dance instruction includes all aspects of classical ballet technique as well as
modern, jazz and character dance. The program is complemented by courses in
dance, history, music, choreography, special conditioning and other related
subjects. Students are also provided guidance from the school’s staff and
professional consultants.
Stage 1
In the initial phase, students are
introduced to dance based on their musicality, physical ability and
coordination. Students study basic fundamentals in dance, modern and jazz etc.
A selected number of students who demonstrate strong interest, talent and
willingness are invited to continue their training in the next stage.
Stage 2
Students who show interest and promise
are invited to focus on classical ballet as well as character dance, modern and
jazz. Students attend classes on a regular basis and may need to increase the
frequency of classes. The students will be auditioned for and been placed in
such company productions as Nutcracker and A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Educational Role
As Dance is an integral part of a child's
educational experience, we aim to enhance the children's self-discipline,
self-confidence and sense of achievement through the structure and demands of
dance training. We expect children to do well in their schoolwork in order to
stay in the program as most children progress academically while in taking
dance lessons and many schools and parents have attributed this success to the
program.
Continuation
Evaluation and assessment of children by
our faculty and staff is an ongoing, multi-faceted effort. A child's
continuation is based on his/her talent, interest and willingness to participate.
These three categories indicate a match between the child's needs and our
ability to meet them.
Independence
The children themselves, with help and
advice from family and teachers, are to a large extent in control of how much
of their dance potential is reached. The decisions they make about their own
behavior, attendance, homework and school work play a role in the children's
continuation in Dance
