1.Opti Sailor
Opti Sailor is the next stepping stone
for the young sailor right after Opti Junior. Building on the basic fundamentals
from Opti Junior, the young sailors will develop some basic rules to prevent
collisions out at sea while further honing their confidence on boat control and
technical skills.

2.Opti Star
Opti Star is the final step in their
Optimist journey as they refine their racing skills and compete for spots in
the ranking regatta. Opti Star sailors will acquire advance skills which will
equip them to sail effectively in the Optimist Class under more demanding
sailing conditions. They will also attain higher knowledge of racing rules.
This programme paves the way for sailors to get into the National Training
Squad, where they will have a chance to represent Singapore at regional and
international competitions.

Opti Star consist
of three separate training squads, Opti Star C, Opti Star B and Opti Star A.
Sailors’ progression through the squads will be based on the National Ranking
system.
·
Sailors in the
Silver Fleet Ranking 41 onwards are eligible to join Opti Star C.
·
Sailors in the
Silver Fleet Ranking 1-40 are eligible to join Opti Star B.
·
Sailors in the Gold
Fleet are eligible to join Opti Star A.

3.Opti Junior
Opti Junior is the first step in
introducing sailing to kids aged 7 to 12. Exposing them to the Sun and the sea
in a safe and exciting new environment, where they will build confidence and
independence through fun lessons and games. In this program, the kids will
learn to sail in pairs on an optimist boat, forge teamwork, discover how boats
work, navigate through the wind and encounter sea creatures in the environments
around them. That is a great way to make new friends and away from digital
gadgets!

4.Opti Racer
Opti Racer is where sailors put their
freshly honed skills from their previous course to the test as they begin to
learn the basics of sailboat racing. The fun continues as the competition
brings out their fighting spirit, determination and resolve.

5.ILCA 4 Beginner & Intermediate Squad
