FAQ
1.Parents and Babies Swimming Lessons
From 4 months old
Learn to swim and love water
Learning to swim is so much more than
just being safe in the water. Swimming opens a whole world of aquatic
adventure. When you swim you can zoom down waterslides, snorkel, surf,
water-ski, throw a pool party and most importantly, bond as a family.
Babies and children need to get to know
water at their own pace, rather than diving in head-first.
Along with their parents and caregivers
our coaches ensure learning to swim is supportive and enjoyable. Children learn
through play so we ensure lessons are fun and engaging. Our coaches’ enthusiasm
for water is contagious.
Entering and exiting the pool, feeling
comfortable with water on the face and blowing bubbles build a strong
foundation for when it is time to go underwater.
Babies can learn to swim from 4 months
onwards and have been given the go-ahead from their doctor.

2.Toddlers
These sessions are designed for ages 2
years and above. Your toddler should already be happy and comfortable in the
water, but don’t worry if they aren’t and have never had a swimming lesson
before - that is why you have come to us.
The main focus for toddler sessions is
about helping them gain water confidence and comfort. The sessions are designed
around fun games, songs and water toys. These parent-assisted sessions will
develop their water skills of gliding under the water, free floating, kicking,
pizza arms and climbing out of the pool by themselves all while having fun and
singing songs.

Children
These sessions are best suited for
children aged 4 years and above. This usually takes place in a small group of age-appropriate
classes that best suit your child’s individual level of water confidence and
comfort in the pool.
Your child will learn about water safety,
how to enter the water and climb out of the pool unaided. The sessions will
break down the techniques required to master the four strokes of Freestyle,
Breaststroke, Backstroke and Butterfly in a fun and enjoyable way.

3.Squad
Swimming well is mostly about repetition,
doing lap after lap. However, repetition can be boring for kids – right? How do we make it more interesting?
Well, what if we got them to do boring
things, in an interesting and fun way!?
Swish is committed to finding ways to
make “boring” more interesting. If you
child dreads the thought of a swim squad, but needs to get some extra laps
under their swim belt, then the Squad sessions is for them.

4.Swish' Special Needs Program
All children are individuals, unique and important. This is why Swish Swimming is also proud to
support aquatic education for children with special needs.
Swimming is fantastic for kids with special needs allowing
kids to develop self-confidence and physical strength. Swish Swimming offers swim classes catering
to special needs ranging from extreme fear of drowning to mild special needs
needing a little more help from the swim coach.
We are very proud to be working with the students from
Melbourne Specialist International School. We recognize that each student
requires something different from their time in the water with us. To ensure
they get the most out of their lesson as well as feel confident and have fun we
provide a weekly program adapted to each individual student. For the more
capable swimmer stroke and kicking techniques are worked on. While for others
breathing techniques with floating and water safety skills may be the focus.
