FAQ
1.Men Artistic Gymnastics (MAG)
Prime’s Men Artistic
Gymnastics (MAG) competitive programme is structured to prepare gymnasts for
internal and external high-level competitions under the Singaporean and
Australian Levels standards. The programme focuses on developing and perfecting
skill sets on the six Olympic apparatus (Floor, Pommel, Rings, Vault, Parallel
Bars and High Bar). Our gymnasts have successfully represented the club and
country at local club, national and international events. Prime's MAG
Competitive programme offers gymnasts 2 pathways for progression:
MAG
Beginner Competitive (2hours/session, 4 - 6 hours per week)
Gymnasts in the beginner
squad are aged between 5-8 years old and train between 1.5-4.5 hours per week.
Gymnasts are separated from the co-ed groups in the recreational stream and
given gender specific training towards future competitive groups. Gymnasts focus on age appropriate and
apparatus specific skills. Gymnasts may
be offered a variety of alternative routes to progress from beginner
competitive squads - including recreational/competitive or performance opportunities. Gymnasts have the opportunity to participate
in our internal competitions.
MAG
Prep Squad (3hours/session, 6 - 9 hours per week)
The preparation squad is
for boys aged 7 -11 years old who have demonstrated above average development
in their physical abilities and skills at a young age. Within the preparation squad
they will have the opportunity to further develop on this and coaches will
evaluate their progress to determine the most appropriate competitive level/
route for them.
From the preparation squad,
boys may be recommended either to the junior development squad or the
intermediate and advanced competitive groups.
MAG
Advanced Competitive (3hours/session, 6 - 12 hours per week)
The advanced squad is
designed to support gymnasts aged between 9 - 14 years old who aspire to progress
further in gymnastics. Gymnasts in the
advanced group can continue to progress through their levels with an
appropriate intensity. Gymnasts will have the opportunity to participate in our
internal competitions and potentially suitable events outside of the club.
MAG
Junior Elite (4hours/session, 16 - 20 hours per week)
The Junior Elite squad is
for boys aged 11 - 17 years old who have good basic skills and physical
fitness. They need to train about 16 hours per week and be able to compete at
Singapore and Australian level 2 & above.
MAG
Senior Elite (4hours/session, 20 - 24 hours per week)
The Senior Elite squad is
for boys 18 years old and above. They need to train about 20 hours per week and
be able to compete at Australia level 5 & above or Singapore level 4 &
above. It will offer more time for apparatus specific skills to produce a level
of gymnastics where the gymnasts may reach a high enough standard to represent
both Prime and Singapore at international level.

2.Women Artistic Gymnastics (WAG)
Prime’s Women Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) competitive programme is
based on the WAG Singapore National Levels Programme (SLP). The programme
focuses on developing and perfecting skill sets on the four Olympic apparatus
(Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor) and is structured to allow gymnasts to develop at
a rate commensurate with their ability, need and commitment. Entry is via our
WAG coaches’ identification, assessment and invitation process. Gymnasts are
then placed in the appropriate programme to develop to their full potential.
Our gymnasts participate in internal competitions and have represented the club
and country at local club, national and international events. While Prime uses
the SLP standard, our gymnasts are versatile and can compete in Australian ALP
levels.

selected internal and external competitions.

the gymnast for the upcoming levels.
