1.Math Olympiad Enrichment Program
Math Olympiad Enrichment Program
Math
Olympiad competitions provide a platform for candidates with exceptional
problem-solving skills to demonstrate their abilities in a non-academic yet
competitive setup.
Every year,
several thousand students in Singapore participate in such competitions at
primary, secondary, and junior college levels. For some candidates, it is an
opportunity to express their analytical skills, while for others, it is an
avenue to improve their profiles and increase their chances of securing
admission at a top secondary school/junior college/university.
With a deep
expertise in mathematics training across all age groups, Prep Zone Academy
offers Math Olympiad Enrichment Programs
for aspiring students who aim to compete in Primary-level Math Olympiads.
Why Math
Olympiad?
With Direct
School Admission (DSA) increasing in Singapore, candidates are going the extra
mile to enhance their profiles through extra-curricular activities. Since most
of the candidates participate in sports, student council, and/or performing
arts, admissions directors start looking for unique activities that set the
candidate apart from the others, with Olympiad a prime choice.
Currently in
Singapore, premier institutions like ACS Independent, Raffles Institution, Hwa
Chong Institution, and NUS High school host their own Math competitions, while
several independent organizations conduct Math Olympiads like Singapore and
Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO), American Mathematics Contest, Australian
Mathematics Competition, and Singapore Mathematics Olympiad, among others.

2.PSAT Preparation Classes
Preliminary SAT (PSAT), also known as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) is a simplified version of the SAT for students in the 10th and/or 11th grade. Taking the PSAT is the best way to get you familiarized with the SAT. For students in the US, the junior year scores are counted towards the National Merit Scholarship Program. Find out more about whether international students should take it on our College blog.
PSAT Test Format
PSAT
includes four timed sections: Evidence-Based Reading, Writing and Language,
Math (no calculator), and Math (calculator allowed).
Evidence Based Reading
The
section consists of 47 multiple choice questions that the students need to
answer in 60 minutes. There will be 5 passages on topics, such as World
Literature, Social Science, Natural Science, and History. The section tests the
students’ ability to read a passage, think critically about its main ideas and
key details, and answer related questions.
Writing & Language
The
section includes 44 multiple choice questions, and time allocated in 35
minutes. The passages used in this section cover a wide range of topics,
including history, social studies, natural science, and the humanities. The
section requires the students to think like editors and identify errors and
weaknesses in the passages by reading.
Math
The
section is divided into two portions, Calculator and No Calculator. The No
Calculator portion comprises 17 questions and is 25 minutes long. The
Calculator portion presents 31 questions and is 45 minutes long. Most are
multiple choice questions, but some are student-produced response questions, or
‘grid-in’ questions. The section tests algebra I and II, geometry, and some
trigonometry.

3.SSAT Preparation Classes
The Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) is an entry requirement to the best independent schools. The SSAT is an easier version of the SAT that was designed as an aptitude test to measure a student’s ability in core subject areas independent of a student’s school record.
The SSAT measures the basic verbal, math and reading skills students need for successful performance in independent schools. It emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are essential for academic success.
Elementary Level
This level is suited for students currently in the 3rd and 4th grade who are applying for admissions to 4th and 5th grade respectively.
Middle Level
This level is suited to students currently in 5th-7th grade who seek admissions to 6th-8th grade.
Upper Level
This level is suited to students currently in 8th-11th grade who are applying for admissions to 9th grade through Post Graduate.
Prep Zone Academy's SSAT Individual Classes
Prep Zone Academy offers private training courses for many SSAT subjects. The foundational concepts can be taught in a systematic manner over a few weeks to give students the right support to put their best foot forward for the test. Courses are completely customizable to suit the needs of the students and help them improve in areas that they face the most difficulty with.
