1.DSA PREPARATION
Each year, thousands of students apply for Direct School Admissions, based on a wide range of talents, including public speaking and performing arts.
Yes, you obviously need a good PSLE outcome but here's a golden opportunity to use your creativity to get an admission into the school of your dreams.
At Play Acting Drama Centre, we've made this journey an easier path for your child.
Here are the modules involved in the path to success:
1. CREATING A DRAMA PORTFOLIO
According to the MOE website, "Schools have different selection processes but, in general, applicants must be able to demonstrate their talent, potential, passion and character through their school track record and online DSA applications." One of the criteria listed is that the child could have "held a role in a play or performance". The importance of creating a credible drama portfolio therefore must be understood and worked on.
2. WORKING THROUGH THE BEST STANDARDS OF VOCAL TECHNIQUES AND BODY LANGUAGE
Every technique we teach our students goes into creating a strong foundation in terms of vocality and physicality.
3. CREDIBLE INTERVIEW TECHNIQUES
Every student is taken through techniques which enable them to tackle their final interviews with confidence and finesse.

2.FIRST STEPS 3 to 7 yrs
This class is your child's first step towards the stage...and so it's extremely interactive and fun! Students are encouraged to engage in team building and confidence building exercises. After all, we would like them to have a very strong sense of conviction in themselves! The fun activities include sharing stories from their past week with the class, story telling and embarking on a drama adventure based on a story, theme or phonic sound of the class. This is followed by classic drama games that explore theatrical concepts such as characterization, phonics, and movement and music based imaginative play. During Story time, characters and themes are discussed with the students. Stories are nearly always dictated by the creative input of the students and features both them and the teacher in several roles with sounds and movements.

3.ON STAGE 6 to 13 yrs
Each year, students are encouraged to be part of a production, that helps them understand and learn the skills required to be on stage.
Apart from learning vocal techniques, students will understand the various facets of a play, including Stanislavski's Given Circumstances, characterization and the move from page to stage. This time our students will be exploring a comedy that searches for the super non-heroes!
