4.Music Production
This course aims to provide a
complete step-by-step learning to Music Production. Students are given the
opportunity to experience working in a recording studio and each student will
be provided professional music sequencing systems for hands-on in classes.
Reference materials and handouts will be given to all students and a library of
music cds will be provided for as well. At the end of the course, each student
will have an opportunity to arrange, record, edit, mix and master their own
production using a song example or their own demos.
Student who excels in the course
will have a chance to work along with arrangers and producers on albums and
commercial projects.
1) Introduction to Professional
Studio Recording (Pre-production, Production, Post-Production)
2) Basics of setting up your
personal Home Studio: Learn how to plan and configure your Home Studio hardware
components such as Mics, Instruments, Mixer, Monitors, Digital Audio Workstations
(DAWs) and PC Systems
3) Music Arrangement: A step by
step approach to learning how to arrange professional sounding backing music
for your songs using basic Midi on Professional Music Sequencers. Course covers
basic understanding of different instruments’ application in different music
styles and genres as well as usage of great sounding melody, chords and
grooves.
Students will learn how to develop
musical ideas and edit and create your own synthesized sounds.
4) Studio Recording: Working with
Multiple Audio tracks such as vocals and other recording of live instruments
(eg. Guitars). Course
covers technical knowledge of audio
recording and students will receive hands-on experience of recording in a real
recording studio. Usage of samples and sample loops will be covered and
students will learn to edit
Audio Files and understand and use
standard audio effects for best results. Topics such as pitch-correction,
applying fades, correcting envelopes and other common editing methods will be
covered.
5) Mixing and Mastering: Understand
and use standard audio effects in post-production for the best results.
Students will learn to mix multitrack audio projects and covers topics such as
Equalization (EQ), Panning, Compression, Gating, Filters, Limiters and Noise
Reduction.

5.Ukulele
Ever wanted to start learning to play a musical instrument but feel bogged down by having zero musical background? Introducing the cute and charming ukulele, which is rapidly gaining its popularity in Singapore. Being one of the easiest instruments to learn since there are only 4 strings, it is comparatively easier to pick up than the guitar.Students will learn how to master the instrument in a short period of time and be able to sing and play at the same time! Objectives:To provide a course that is suitable for aspiring electric guitar players of all levels. “Stage 1 : Fundamental StageThis stage serves as a cornerstone for people who do not haveany musical background to eventually be able to identify, playand write their own songs.
