Python 1: General-Purpose Programming
Course Overview
Python is a general-purpose programming
language used by many leading tech companies to create complex, real-world
systems. It is also the current language of choice for the GCE 'O' and 'A'
Level Computing curriculum. Loshberry's systematic and rigorous Python syllabus
will teach students to not only master the language, but also get exposed to
valuable Computational Thinking and Computer Science concepts. Whether you wish
to get a headstart in Computing, or simply have a sneak preview into the
wonderful world of coding, this is the perfect module for all beginners.

Can you learn coding without a computer?
Discover the connection between the digital and physical worlds via a tiny
robot and a drag-and-drop programming interface! This programme introduces
basic programming concepts and instills creativity and resilience in kids.
No prior experience in programming or
robotics needed.
Junior Tinkerer
Equivalent of Coding Discovery Camp
(Junior Tinkerer)
Learn how to create interactive games and
animations using a friendly block-based programming interface! Building upon
their basic knowledge from Junior Starter, this programme will let kids learn
how to design and build their own features in games and animations.
Prerequisite: Junior Starter OR basic
experience in Scratch
Junior Builder
What do math and coding have in common?
This programme enhances and strengthens coding skills, and encourages students
to integrate mathematical and programming concepts to design and build games
and digital artwork from scratch.
Prerequisite: Junior Tinkerer OR intermediate
experience in Scratch
Junior Inventor
How are ultra-cool games and animations
made? In this final Junior Coders module, students will learn how to
deconstruct complex game and animation ideas into simple algorithms that they
can build on their own. Students will get to work on their own unique project
ideas and turn them to reality!
Prerequisite: Junior Builder OR
intermediate-advanced experience in Scratch

5.Term Programmes - Tween Coders Age 10 – 12
For
slightly older or more experienced kids, this fast-tracks students into
understanding of coding and computational thinking concepts, and prepares
him/her for real-world programming.
Tween Tinkerer
Equivalent of Coding Discovery Camp
(Tween Tinkerer)
What goes through a computer’s mind every
time you interact with it? How are smart gadgets designed? This exploratory camp
introduces coding fundamentals along with basic electronic concepts and design
thinking. Learn to design and code the brains that control smart devices!
No prior experience in programming or
electronics needed.
Tween Builder
Equivalent of Coding Discovery Camp
(Tween Builder)
How are mobile apps designed and built?
This programme introduces students to the world of app development through a
friendly drag-and-drop programming interface. Students will strengthen their
coding skills and utilise design thinking to build their own simple apps.
Industry concepts such as wireframing and algorithm planning will also be
introduced to students to expose them to real-world processes.
Prerequisite: Tween Tinkerer OR some
experience in Scratch
Tween Inventor
How do software developers work in the real
world? This programme introduces basic software engineering and prepares
students for their learning of advanced, real-world programming concepts.
Students will build their own apps under close guidance of our experienced,
industry practitioner teachers. Concepts on networking and sensors will be
covered to allow students to build apps that interact with real-world
environments.
Prerequisite: Tween Builder OR some
experience in MIT App Inventor
