2.ISOMETRIC DRAWING
Isometric
drawing is a form of 3D drawing, which is set out using 30-degree angles. It is
a type of axonometric drawing so the same scale is used for every axis,
resulting in a non-distorted image. Since isometric grids are pretty easy to
set up, once you understand the basics of isometric drawing, creating a freehand
isometric sketch is relatively simple.
BENEFITS OF USING ISOMETRIC DRAWING
Isometric drawings are very useful for
designers – particularly architects, industrial and interior designers and
engineers, as they are ideal for visualizing rooms, products, and
infrastructure. They're a great way to quickly test out different design ideas.
There are a number of other situations in
which isometric projection is useful. In way-finding systems, for example in
museums or galleries, an isometric wall maps can show visitors where they are
in the building, what is going on elsewhere, and how to get to get around.
Some of the best infographics use
isometric projection to enable them to show more information than would be
possible in a 2D drawing. Some logo designs also use this approach to create
impact.
DELIVERIABLES
Students will complete 6 skilled 3D
drawings. Students will learn how isometrics drawing is done and learn how to
control ruler with pencil work. They will get to design a 3D house on their own.

3.POLYMER CLAY
Polymer
Clay (sometimes accidentally spelled polimer clay) is an art medium that is
known for its versatility, pliability and simplicity to work with. It is an
oven bake modelling material composed of polymers, resins, colouring agents and
fillers. Not a natural clay, it is man-made from a plastic, polyvinyl chloride
(PVC) base.
Polymer clay is used by artists and
hobbyists ranging from children to professional artists and movie makers. It
stays continually soft and can be baked in a home oven, retaining its colour
and size. It is available in many colours, including metallics,
glow-in-the-dark and "stone." It can be used to simulate many
materials: stone, semi-precious stones, porcelain, wood, and glass.
BENEFITS OF LEARNING POLYMER CLAY
Playing with polymer gets children to
exercise their eyes, hands and fingers through kneading, shaping and sensing
the shapes they create. This will help improve their communicative skills,
reflexes reactions, social skills and cultivate positive self-image and
confidence. Unlike traditional earthen clay used in pottery, the colourful
polymer clay encourages a child's sense of visual artistry.
The malleability of clay also creates a
wonderful opportunity for the child to exercise his or her imagination.
The key benefit of play clay in these
succinct lays the foundation for creative thinking in children. It can also
help children to focus and visualize better, and instill in them the necessary
life skill of problem-solving.
DELIVERABLIES
Students will complete 10 projects using
polymer clay. Some are palm-size decorative item, some are wearable items.
All materials are provided.

4.FUN ACRYLIC PAINTING
Acrylic
paint is paint made of pigment that’s suspended in acrylic emulation. It is
water-soluble and fast-drying and becomes water-resistant once dry.
Acrylic paint is extremely versatile. Dependent
on how much the paint is diluted with water, or modified with acrylic gels,
mediums or pastes, a finished acrylic painting can resemble a watercolour,
gouache or an oil painting. It can also have its own unique characteristics not
attainable with other media.
The range of acrylic mediums is also
greater than watercolour and oil. Acrylics have the ability to bond to many
different surfaces, and mediums can be used to modify its binding
characteristics. Acrylics can be used on paper, canvas and a range of other
materials, including hobby models like trains, cars and houses.
BENEFITS OF ACRYLIC PAINTING
One of the most important benefits that
painting brings to a kids life is, of course, an enhanced creativity. Through
painting, children will be able to get a better understanding of basic
geometric shapes, such as squares, triangles or circles and to combine these
shapes in expressing their own perception of the world surrounding them.
This process enriches children's
creativity and challenges them to constantly use their imagination, it teaches
them to overcome barriers and to be able to perceive the same thing from
different perspectives.
DELIVERABLES:
Students will complete 6 painting projects
on A4 size canvas paper. Project will be based on theme for the term. Students
will be taught blending and colour theory.
All materials will be provided.
