1.ART JAMMING CLASSES

Looking for a team-bonding activity, or just want to unwind? Here at Art Village, we give you the creative freedom to do just that! With our Art Jamming Sessions, you can be a Picasso or Van Gogh for the day (or bring in your own or any Art Style you like) and we will guide you every step of the way in creating your very own masterpiece!

During this program, students will choose what they would like to paint, or for a group setting a general theme (e.g., animal, landscape, object, etc.) and we’ll teach you how to paint it step by step. A relaxing and friendly setting for you and/or your family & friends to experience the joys of Acrylic Painting!

2.ONLINE BASIC DRAWING PROGRAMME

Are you bored at home with nothing to do, but want to make sure you remain safe & healthy during this difficult period? How about trying out Art Village’s Online Basic Drawing Programme to pass the time!

During this program, students will focus on improving their observational & technical skill through simple online drawing exercises & activities, where they will be taught the fundamentals of art, including the elements of art, perspective, proportion, & design. In the comfort of your own home, students will be taught online by our Art Village staff through weekly video calls & easy

to follow exercises.

– Enjoy your classes in the comfort of your own home!

– Once a week 1 – 2 hour video calls between students & teachers through the app ‘Zoom’ (in a 1 to 1 or group setting).

– Weekly online classes available.

– Easy to follow exercises with simple materials & online guidance.

Material Requirements:

Level 1 & 2:

– A4 paper

– A selection of color pencils, crayons, or markers

– Basic art & craft tools: eraser, scissors, ruler, glue, tape, etc.

Levels 3:

– A4 paper

– A selection of pencils and/or pens

(If you do not have a pencil set, a basic 2B pencil is also okay!)

– Basic drawing tools: ruler, eraser, etc.

Weekly Timeslots (1 to 2 hours):

Classes will follow our regular student timeslots unless otherwise advised, in which case you may contact your respective teachers for their available timings & class days.

3.CREATOTS (AGES 2 TO 3½)

During this course, we will focus on:
·        Exploring and combining new mediums through experimental techniques
·        Learning how to follow simple steps and instructions
·        Establishing basic hand/eye coordination and motor skills
·        Learning how to use different tools for art making (e.g. scissors, paint brush, pencil, etc.)
·        Cultivating a child’s imagination by encouraging them to express what they like and dislike
·        Learning to see the world through their five senses and creating that world into their art with the elements of art

4.LEVEL 1 (AGES 3½ TO 5)

During this course, we will focus on:
·        Introducing a child to different art styles, as they explore new artists and mediums through experimental techniques
·        Learning how to follow a series of simple steps and instructions, whilst also taking initiative by drawing shapes the child already knows
·        Improving on their motor skills, hand/eye coordination and neatness
·        Learning how to use a series of different tools for art making through their size (e.g. small and big paint brushes, different glues, thin and thick pens, etc.)
·        Getting to know the basics elements of art (e.g. light and dark, textures, shapes), as they learn to see art through nature
·        Cultivating their social skills, creativity and confidence by encouraging their strengths

5.LEVEL 2 (AGES 5 TO 8)

During this course, we will focus on:
·        Introducing a child to basic technical skills (e.g. perspective & proportion) as well as various techniques for new mediums and artist painting styles
·        Cultivating confidence in their work, as the child begins to take initiative by drawing shapes and forms which already know
·        Improving on their neatness, hand stability, and medium application
·        Developing their observational skills as they learn how to sense tones, light, and shadow in the world around them
·        Learning how to use new techniques and unconventional art mediums for their art making (e.g. printmaking!)
·        Developing a child’s creativity and imagination through combining stories, conversation, and feelings with an appropriate art style and medium
·        Learning how to be positive about mistakes, be encouraging to their peers, and take pride in their strengths when results for their efforts are shown

6.LEVEL 3 (AGES 8 TO 15)

During this course, we will focus on:
·        Introducing a child to both traditional and contemporary art making by discovering themes that they are passionate about
·        Developing their technical skills as they learn both basic drawing (e.g. 1 and 2 point perspective, circle perspective, proportion, etc.) and painting (e.g. color theory, types of blending, painting mediums, etc.) techniques
·        Learning how to combine unconventional art mediums together in order to create their own, unique art pieces and style (e.g. charcoal and ink)
·        Developing their observational skills as they learn how to sense tonal values and color values in the world around them
·        Learning how to compose an artwork together through placement of objects, light intensity, and color choices
·        Developing their confidence, personal style, and creativity through discussion
·        Learning about famous traditional and contemporary artists, where we focus on an artists style or way of thinking
·        Working with both 2D and 3D mediums, as we work towards becoming open minded in terms of what can be viewed and appreciated as art
·        Learning how to compromise an artwork to showcase their strengths and improve on their weakness

7.LEVEL 4 (AGES 16 & ABOVE)

During this course, we will focus on:
·        Developing confidence and independence in a student’s work, as they apply and further develop their technical knowledge through art making and discussion
·        Introducing a student to both traditional and contemporary art making by discovering themes that they are passionate about
·        Developing their technical skills as they learn advanced drawing (e.g. 1/2/3 point perspective, circle perspective, proportion, etc.) and painting (e.g. color theory, types of blending through mediums, wet on wet and layering, etc.) techniques
·        Developing their observational skills as they learn how to sense tonal values and color values in the world around them
·        Learning how to compose an artwork together through placement of objects, light intensity, point of view, and color choices
·        Gaining in depth knowledge by studying a chosen subject or technique to an advanced level
